CLOSED RHINOPLASTY
Rhinoplasty, also called nose correction, is the name given to surgical procedures performed to change the shape of the nose. This procedure can also correct the patient's functional problems related to breathing. In particular, flesh growths, bone and cartilage deformities can be corrected during the procedure. There are two techniques: open and closed rhinoplasty. The reason why closed rhinoplasty is preferred is that a more natural look can be achieved without incision and scar.
The area between the two nostrils is called the columella. In closed rhinoplasty, no incision is made in the columella area and the skin is not removed. Since the arteries, veins and columellar nerve are not damaged in this area, this has a positive effect on the healing process.
Closed rhinoplasty can be performed on any patient, but not on patients who have previously undergone open rhinoplasty. This will be verified during the examination. With closed rhinoplasty, the tip of the nose becomes more flexible, and since the nerves are not damaged, the numbness at the tip of the nose disappears after about a month, and in some cases it does not occur at all.
